A unique combination of dynamic breathing and strong, flowing movement, which creates a high heat, high energy workout. Ashtanga Yoga is a choreographed sequence of postures which flow into one another, building strength, unwinding tight joints, and loosening muscles. Ashtanga yoga is a complete mind and body workout that develops concentration and reduces stress.

If you are new to Yoga - this course will introduce you to the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga. It will build stamina, flexibility, awareness of movement and breath sychronisation which is the key feature of this powerful form of yoga.

There is a little more information regarding the practice of Ashtanga Yoga on the sidebar from two of the many great teachers who have given me instruction.

Please be aware that you will need to have a good basic level of fitness and be prepared to commit to short home practice sessions.

The cost of this 8 week course is £70 (students and unemployed £60).


IMPROVERS

For those who have either completed the 6 week beginner’s course (see above) and/or has experience of attending Yoga classes on a regular basis.

THE METHOD

A refinement of the results of millennia of profound action by yogis in India, is designed to systematically clear blockages, build strength and tune undeveloped areas in the physical body; over time, this kinesthetic work practiced in the body begins to replicate itself at the level of mind, clearing blockages, building strength, tuning. Regular practice sustained over time is absolutely necessary to achieve these goals, and to overcome stumbling blocks encountered along the way, yet the system is so potent that practitioners feel changes after a single practice.

6 sessions ( to be used within 9 weeks) = £45

Students and unemployed = £40

12 sessions (to be used within 16 weeks) = £78

Students and unemployed = £65

Payments permit attendance at one or both the Tuesday and Thursday evening Ashtanga sessions and also Power Yoga sessions.
