Yoga At The University Of York

 

 

There are 3 sessions to choose from - all are physically challenging.

 

Wednesday 2 to 3:15 

Level 3 Modified Ashtanga.

suitable for beginners. You should spend at least one term in this class if you are a complete beginner or new to the dynamic forms of yoga.

 

Wednesday 3:30 to 5

Level 2 Ashtanga -

Slight Modiifications to practice - more intensive than the previous session.

 

Friday 3:15 to 4:45

Dynamic Balance - A challenging session incorporating postures to open hips, increase core strength and stamina.

 

 

 

All sessions emphasise correct breathing and include guided relaxation.

POSTURE INFORMATION

The sessions will be much more effective if you find a little time for practice on your own.

 

These practice sheets will help you to become more familuar with the sequences of Sun Salutaion A and B which begin the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. They are an excellent way to strength and flexibilty. 5 repetitions of each sequence would only take a few minutes but are very beneficial to mind and body.
