Following the beginners sessions, this is the perfect way to take your practice to the next level.

 

It is also appropriate if you have dropped out of Ashtanga and need a gentler practice to get you back to the mat.

 

OPENING

Continuing the theme of opening the body with a selection of Yin postures

STRENGTHENING

We reinforce the strengthening aspects of the standing sequence and add postures to open hips and shoulders, Backbends are introduced along with postures for the upper body that will help you to hold a strong Chaturanga (low push up).

ESTABLISHING HEADSTAND TECHNIQUE

Headstand practice.png

Techniques for a safe and effective way to build your headstand are also given.

After 9 or 10 sessions you will be ready to move on to the Tuesday evenings Improvers session. Some people adapt more quickly than others so will move on to the next stage a little more quickly. However, if this session suits your needs you are very welcome to continue.
